Portugal has proven that changing the focus on drug addiction to that of a Public Health problem, instead of criminalizing addicts, is an approach that works. It saves lives, and conserves the public treasure.

Without question we have ruined the lives of so many young people for simple and minor drug infractions, millions for marijuana alone. Removing the Schedule 1 classification on marijuana is long overdue.
